Shelley is a freelance writer, specializing in nonfiction articles and books. She has two published books for children, "The Ebola Virus," published by KidHaven Press in 2003 and "Bed Bugs," to be released by KidHaven Press in September 2005. She is the news editor for Writer-On-Line.com, a professional e-zine for writers. For 12 years, her articles have appeared in the Austin American-Statesman newspaper, Austin Woman magazine, Austin Golf magazine, Just labs, Texas Meetings & Events, Reading Today the journal for the International Reading Association, Cornell University's Veterinary newsletter "Dogwatch" and numerous other magazines. Shelley has a background in community reporting, researching healthcare topics and writing about therapy and service animals.Shelley and her husband, Eamonn Healy, a chemistry professor, have two sons, Burns and Conor Healy. They live in Austin, Texas--Center of the Universe. Shelley shares her workspace with her three hounds: Belle, Boomer and Brownie. She takes occasional walks for creative brainstorming and because the Killer B's are responding to Nature's Call! |
